We’ve gone back and spoken to students who completed the Discover Arts and Humanities programme and who decided to stay at Sheffield for their degrees. Here’s how Christian answered his 5 Minutes, 5 Questions.
What are you studying?
Where are you from?
Birdwell in Barnsley
Why did you take part in the programme?
I wanted to find out if university was for me, and what course I should take.
What was the best thing about the programme?
As well as all the help with applying to university, and of course the adjusted offer due to my participation in the programme, I really enjoyed a seminar on the film ‘Kes’. Coming from Barnsley, I’ve always liked the film, but studying it from an academic perspective gave me a whole new angle on it, and inspired me to take a film module at Sheffield.
What is the best thing about being a Sheffield student?
My favourite thing about Sheffield is very cliché, but I’ve met lots of good friends, especially through my involvement in Sheffield’s great student activist scene.
