We caught up with US in Schools Mentoring’s second Mentor of the Month for November (excellent month for mentors!). Here’s how George answered his 5 Minutes, 5 Questions:
What are you studying?
Where are you from?
Where are you mentoring?
Why did you become a mentor?
I wanted to become a mentor because of the massive positive influence mentoring can have on young people. GCSE’s, A-Levels and applying to university are all challenging things and I wanted to share my knowledge and experiences to make the transitioning at a young age as easy and stress free as possible.
What is the best thing about mentoring?
The best thing about mentoring is building up a rapport with your mentees, watching over weeks and months as a mentee opens up more about themselves, their abilities and their struggles. This creates a strong bond between mentor and mentee and allows for more personal and beneficial mentoring sessions.
