5 Minutes, 5 Questions: Sarah Morrish

Christmas was the season of good will as the US in Schools Mentoring team presented two winners for December’s Mentor of the Month. Here’s how Sarah Morrish answered her 5 Minutes, 5 Questions:

sarahWhat are you studying?
PhD in Advanced Metallic Systems Engineering (I 3D print metal for aerospace)

Where are you from?
North West London

Where are you mentoring?
Eckington

Why did you become a mentor?
I always assumed I’d go to University, but I never really thought about what I wanted to do, or how I was going to get there. I decided to join the mentoring programme so my mentees can be better prepared than I was, and realise that they have more options than just doing what their parents and teachers assume they will do.

What is the best thing about mentoring?
Seeing the look of realisation when the kids finally understand something that has been confusing them.
