US in Schools – Mentoring entered the New Year with a new Mentor of the Month.
January’s winner Emily Matkin is a current Lead Mentor and here’s how she answered her 5 Minutes, 5 Questions:
What are you studying?
Where are you from?
Where are you mentoring?
Why did you become a mentor?
To help other young people struggling with confidence and self-belief as I did at that age, and hopefully have a positive impact on their experience of secondary school and further education.
What is the best thing about mentoring?
Seeing the growth and maturation in mentees as they become more independent, and being the person who is able to support them in doing that.
