With US in Schools – Mentoring coming to a close for 2016/17 there has been another double helping of Mentor of the Month winners for March. Steph Yates has been a mentor in 2015/16 and now a Lead Mentor in 2016/17. Here’s how she answered her 5 Minutes, 5 Questions:

Steph Yates - Mar 17 (1)What are you studying?
I am studying BSc Psychology

Birchover, Derbyshire

Ecclesfield School

Why did you become a mentor?
To support children with any aspect of school or their personal life that they may be struggling with or need some extra guidance. I believe it’s something that would have helped me whilst at school so I wanted children to have that support.

What is the best thing about mentoring?
Watching the mentees progress each week and seeing what we have done in the mentoring sessions being put into practice in regards to their school work or their growing confidence.
