Lucy Scheinkonig, Outreach and Widening Participation Coordinator here at the University looks after the Cool to be Clever club – a group of clever Year 5 pupils from across 12 Primary Schools in the South East of Sheffield (SSELP).
Post by Lucy:
‘Last week we really enjoyed welcoming Year 5 Cool to be Clever pupils on campus for their cultural trip as part of the C2BCC programme.
The pupils received a tour of the campus showing them the highlights of the University and gave them an exciting look at student life.
Pupils then tucked into pizza & chips in the University canteen and really enjoyed feeling like a university student for the afternoon.
The main part of the day was a visit to the Lyceum theatre to watch an amazing performance of Roald Dahl’s creation – the Fantastic Mr Fox. The children really enjoyed the day – almost as much as me!’
‘I liked visiting the labs and The Diamond Building. My favourite part of the Cool to be Clever is the tour of the campus and looking at the Student Union.’
