5 Minutes, 5 Questions: Hebe Hetherington

Hebe Hetherington is a new mentor this year on  and is November’s Mentor of the Month winner for her commitment and dedication to US in Schools Mentoring. Throughout November Hebe was selfless and her primary focus was her mentees, partner school, and mentor team, truly going above and beyond in the name of mentoring. Here’s how she answered his 5 Minutes5 Questions:

November 2017 - Hebe Hetherington (Fir Vale)Where are you from:
Stratford Upon-Avon
What are you Studying:
History
Where are you mentoring:
Fir Vale School
What made you want to become a mentor:
My housemate was a mentor last year and really enjoyed it and recommended it to me. Its a great thing to do for anyone who thinks they might want to go into teaching as you get hands on experience in a school, and lots of creative freedom with the sessions you run as well.
What is the best thing about mentoring so far and what are you most looking forwards to:
My team at Fir Vale are brilliant and we always have a laugh. I’ve been loving getting to know my mentees and them becoming more responsive and chatty as we get to know each other better. I can’t wait for the celebration day in May when we can look back and see where we started in September and how much our mentees have grown and changed throughout the year.
